Is it possible to unify the urban scenery by minimizing the formic expression of buildings as singular objects and emphasizing on the city as a whole? Unitizing different elements of the building including walls, windows, doors, etc., as well as reducing the variety of building materials could somehow address the so called issues. The project was designed as the headquarters for Kohan Ceram Brick Manufacturing Company.

A series of separate gardens and terraces make this design a meditative getaway in this northern Iranian valley. The plot itself is wide at the meeting of the street, and bottlenecks as it moves away. In this way, the longer street-side wall adequately protects the privacy of the perpendicularly linear plot. Likewise, the levels of the villa and gardens themselves can be vertically focused as the land stretches further from the street on its north-south axis. The overall aim was to fully integrate all the elements of a traditional Persian house from Iwan to various forms of gardens, such as Baghcheh and sunken garden.

The A.S.P. residential complex, (Kooy-e Nobonyad-e Vanak), was built in the early 1970’s and is made of three 23-floor residential towers. This complex houses 250 apartment units inside the towers and 120 villa-apartment, shaped in a staircase format, on the towers’ slopes and skirts. The board of directors of the complex has set strict policies for the reconstruction of the units. In addition, the existence of multiple shear walls, which are only 4 meters apart, makes new planning very difficult.

Every project in architecture faces challenges that achieving the answer will create a specific scenario for that building. One of the features of this project’s site is its small width, which made limitations in interior (plan) and exterior (facade) design. Meanwhile, its two corners allow better lighting for the building. The project is located in Amirabad neighborhood of Tehran; the entrance is from the southern and western sides.

The site is in the Royan city in north of Iran, located in a quiet residential area, where there was a beautiful forest in the past. the design started with a conversation with the client who was a religious man and privacy was very important to him also he had a limited budget and wanted to build a very simple building. carry out a modern, practical and timeless design, sophisticated and cozy, representing the natural light and ventilation that also saves the client tight budget were our main challenges of the project.
